So many products are filled with hormone-distrupting chemicals.
Studies have shown that after only a few days of using products free of these chemicals, your body has measurably lower levels of these toxins. Just like the foods you put into your body show on the outside, the products you put on your skin can make their way into your bloodstream. People wouldn’t eat toxic chemicals so why would they want to put them on their body, which eventually will end up in their body?
With the year we’ve had it’s now more important than ever to take good care of yourself. Pause, take a deep breath and do something that feels good just for you.
It’s no secret that clean, sustainable beauty has been on the rise over the last few years.
With so many new products hitting the market, we wanted to take a moment to cut through the clutter and share some of our absolute favorites.
Jojoba oil is used in many skincare formulations that claim to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I love this brand because it’s certified organic and completely pure. To use, simply apply a layer all over your face and neck at night and wake up in the morning with silky smooth skin.
If you haven’t heard of herbivore yet, they’re an all-natural cruelty-free skincare brand that utilizes active botanicals, gemstones and crystals in their products. This bath salt contains himalayan pink salt, ylang ylang and essential oils. It makes the most soothing, hydrating, vanilla scented bath to soothe your body and mind.
Nécessaire is another one of our favorites, because it implements sustainable practices in sourcing and packaging products to leave behind the lightest footprint possible. Its products don’t contain any parabens, phthalates, sulfates, silicones, petro-chemicals, synthetic fragrances or synthetic dyes.
I recommend using this product in the shower to exfoliate every other day. Necessaire’s body scrub has a gritty, gel-like texture that foams up when it gets wet. The Body Exfoliator is a pH-balanced, multi-exfoliant and leaves the skin feeling so smooth and soft.
4. Herbivore Brighten Instant Glow Mask
This brightening mask contains a combination of AHA’s and BHA’s (alpha and beta hydroxy acids) that are essentially exfoliators that remove dead skin cells, or the entire first layer of your skin. They’re also called resurfacing acids, because they allow the “new” fresh layer of your skin to come appear fresh and glowing.
This product has quickly become one of my favorite face masks. It’s also certified “Clean” by Sephora, which means it doesn’t contain an extensive list of 50 undesirable ingredients like sulfates, parabens, phthalates, and more.
Another favorite of mine is this vanilla flavored lip balm. I usually apply it after I do my skincare routine before bed. A little goes a long way and it leaves my lips feeling super hydrated in the morning.
