First is one of my all-time favorites. Every time I make this Turmeric Lemon Tonic for events, people ask me for the recipe. The superstar ingredient here is emulsified turmeric from Omica Organics. It's biodynamically-grown, which means that the farmers utilize traditional practices that help maintain mineral and nutrient-rich soil. Made from CO2-extracted organic turmeric oil "turmerones," organic turmeric extract paste "curcumins," and freeze-dried organic turmeric juice, this product is extremely rich in antioxidants and anit-aging nutrients. These specific oils and herbs have been used for centuries in Ayurveda for their potent therapeutic benefits. Mix the following in a glass and voila! Feel the turmeric slap the inflammation off your cells.

2. Spirulina Coconut Lemonade

The next recipe spotlights spirulina, an ingredient that has exploded in popularity in the wellness industry over the past couple of years. And for good reason. This algea has it all -- an impressive amount of proteins, B vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, and niacin), magnesium, potassium and a plenty of chlorophyll. Its benefits include anti-aging, anti-inflammation, anti-cancer, and it's shown to be a powerful heavy metal detoxifier. One teaspoon of spirulina has more chlorophyll than 2 cups of spinach. Chlorophyll is known to help with blood detoxification, wound healing, gut health, energy, immune system support and cancer prevention. When mixed with honey, lemon and coconut water, this drink is both nourishing and delicious. Cheers!

  • 1 cup Coconut water
  • 1 tsp spirulina powder
  • Squeeze ½ a lemon
  • Raw honey
  • Mix well or pour into a bottle and shake it up!

3. Activated Charcoal lemonade

Don't let the color of this drink scare you away. Its main ingredient, activated charcoal, offers a wide array of health benefits. It's best known for being a powerful binder of toxins. Toxins tend to get trapped in its microscopic, negatively-charged porous texture which prevents your body from re-absorbing them. It holds on tight to the toxins and works to escort everything out. But its benefits don't stop there. It's also shown to protect the kidneys, reduce bad cholesterol levels, reduce gas and bloating, and can even be used as a teeth whitener!  Bottoms up to this healthy drink!

  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp of activated charcoal
  • raw honey
  • Mix, add ice and enjoy

4. The Creamiest Iced Chaga Drink

This next tonic recipe contains powerful ingredients that protect the body against free radical damage. Mesquite is a potent anti-inflammatory and prebiotic (to feed your microbiome) grown in Northern Peru. Chaga is a fungus or functional mushroom that grows in 1 out of every 1,000 birch trees in cold temperatures. Chaga has been studied and used for centuries in Chinese Medicine. It is believed to fight cancer, improve immunity, reduce chronic inflammation, and regulate blood sugar and cholesterol levels. When combined with mesquite and coconut milk, this tasty elixir offers wide-ranging benefits to your health.  You can drink this one hot or cold.

Blend at low speed, pour in a glass and add ice!

This last tonic recipe highlights green tea (in the form of matcha) for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. These nourishing green tea leaves contain L-theanine, an amino acid that packs some serious health benefits. It's shown to help improve sleep, improve cognitive focus, support the immune system, and help the body deal with stress. The combination of basil and matcha is a serious refresher during the day!

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 tsp of matcha
  • ¼ cup of fresh basil leaves
Add matcha to water and mix, then add liquid to basil leaves. Add ice and shine on!
