There are a few things that have been scientifically proven to minimize the contraction of viruses. Yes, washing your hands is important, as is keeping a 6' distance from other people, but there are also some other simple ways that we all can step it up a notch.
COVID-19 comes from the family of RNA viruses that are shaped like icosahedron, it has little antenna-looking things that are made of glycoproteins that are used to bind to your cells. It has a lipid envelope (membrane) around its protein shell. It needs the help of your machinery - your cells' protein making machine the ribosomes - to reproduce. So let's not help it, yes?
This virus has to successfully make it through your body's complex line of defenses to make a touchdown.
Like in a football game, the quarterback runs with the ball to make a touchdown, but in the meantime there are other team members trying to take it down -- Yes! This shows how horrible I am with sports. But I hope that analogy can help you imagine what is happening within your body when it contracts a virus so much better. Those team members are part of your immune system.
