Where are you originally from and what first drew you to yoga?
I was born in South Africa and moved to a small neighboring country called Eswatini when I was 5! I took a trip to Bali in 2014 and that is where I fell in love with and discovered Yoga. I had always been curious about the practice and Bali seemed the perfect place to try some classes. The sensations and release I felt in those first few classes are hard to describe, I saw myself and my life ahead, and knew my calling was to teach and guide others through Yoga and healing. I believe it was the internal shift that took place within me where I knew I had found my destiny.
What are your clients hoping to find when they begin taking your classes?
My intention is to create a safe and nurturing environment for my students to discover their true selves and capabilities through movement and breathwork. Some of the most empowering moments can happen on the mat that will transform a person into the highest version of themselves. My classes are always fun, creative and always hold the offering to modify where needed.
What benefits do you see with your clients after they begin a regular yoga practice?
Calmness is something that begins to radiate off my students, by giving others space to lean fully into themselves you really see them begin to release and embrace a lifestyle of non attachment. They become more intune with themselves and their emotions and that is a really beautiful thing to witness.
How do you stay balanced while running your own business?
I feel blessed to be able to do what I love from home, I maintain balance through my own personal yoga practice that includes daily meditation and journaling. I nourish my body well, whether that be from the food I eat, to the activities I take part in, and also the rest and relaxation I need to be the best version I can be. I love to get outdoors and soak in some of nature's offerings, I love to read and expand my knowledge, we are always learning and growing. We get to choose what we fill our minds with and I find that to be an extremely powerful thing!
What is your typical morning routine?
Wake up at 6.30am and meditate before reaching for my phone, I enjoy a cup of herbal tea and then have some breakfast!
What are 3 things you can’t live without?
My yoga mat, my family and my cats!
What is your favorite TUSOL Recipe?
I am in love with the Immunity smoothie mix! Turmeric and ginger offer such incredible antiinflammatory and immunity boosting properties and it tastes SO good! I add one frozen banana, a cup of oat milk and the Immunity smoothie mix and blend! Simple yet so delicious!
