Glyphosate Is Making You Age Faster

Dec 2, 2019

Eating organic foods is probably the most important thing you can do for longevity because most foods are grown with a chemical that will speed up the aging process. This chemical opens up the door for chronic diseases and other illnesses. Today It is very common to hear of people in their 20's with arthritis, diabetes, cognitive decline, and other illnesses that were once reserved for the elderly. This chemical is the main ingredient in herbicides and it is used in conventional farming to kill broadleaf plants and grasses. This chemical is called: Glyphosate.

Besides farming, It's also commonly used in your neighbor's garden, public parks, around schools, golf courses, and other areas with large expanses of turf. It's available for purchase at your local Home Depot for a very cheap price.

Serious Health implications

In 2015, the World Health Organization classified glyphosate as “carcinogenic to humans”, based on animal studies. It is known to cause tumor growth and cancer. Studies have also shown that glyphosate is genotoxic, meaning it causes mutations in DNA. Thanks to DNA testing today, people can see their specific mutations. I was surprised to see some of the same mutations in my circle of friends, causing the body’s inability to properly detoxify and the presence of low levels of glutathione, the body's master antioxidant.

GLYPHOSATE STOPS VITAMIN D

Glyphosate exposure has been implicated in the Vitamin D deficiency epidemic in the U.S. over the past two decades. Vitamin D is activated in a two-step process, in which Vitamin D3 is converted by the liver's enzymes and is then converted to its active form. Glyphosate has been shown to severely suppress liver enzymes in rat studies.

The Effect On Collagen

Even worse, the gly- in glyphosate stands for glycine, an amino acid that is highly enriched in collagen. Collagen is the main structural protein in the connective tissues in your skin. As the main component of connective tissue, it is the most abundant protein in humans. Glyphosate is a glycine molecule attached to a methylphosphonyl group, which happens to be an ingredient in chemical weapons. This means that every time you consume glyphosate it can be incorporated into your collagen matrix. It becomes part of your skin just like glycine, because the body will take glyphosate and substitute it for glycine.

Remarkably, multiple diseases and conditions that are common in the population are rising dramatically, simply because the staples of the American diet are mostly comprised of glyphosate. Studies have focused more narrowly to explain a link between glyphosate and ALS, gout, and autoimmune diseases. ALS is a particularly striking example because many genetic mutations that are linked to ALS are either substitutions or alterations of other amino acids within glycine rich regions.

Gout is one of the conditions whose incidence has risen in the population in the past two decades, in step with the dramatic increase in the use of glyphosate on core crops. This affects your kidney and even worse, your liver, the organ that protects your heart and your brain. This means you are prematurely aging every time you consume something that contains glyphosate, which not only accelerates the aging of your skin, but also the aging of your organs. Who would make such an evil chemical available to the masses?

A Little History Lesson

1961 Glyphosate is patented in the US as a descaling and chelating agent.

Glyphosate was initially used as a descaling agent to clean out mineral deposits in drains, pipes, and residential hot water systems. Glyphosate is a very effective metal binder, which can bind to metals like calcium, magnesium, and heavy metals to make them water soluble and easily removable. This is great when you want to clean a drain that has accumulated mineral deposits, but you know what needs a lot of minerals to survive? Your body. Glyphosate may just give you osteoporosis, cavities, arthritis, and so on, because it slowly descales your bones.

1970 Glyphosate is discovered to be a herbicide by Monsanto scientist John Franz

Right out of a bad comic book, evil scientist John Franz discovered that glyphosate is a weedkiller and is patented as such.

1974: Monsanto brings glyphosate to market and names it "Roundup". 1982: Monsanto is already working on creating Roundup Ready genetically modified crops

If this is not scary enough, Roundup Ready crops are genetically modified to be resistant to the herbicide Roundup. These genetically engineered crops have had their DNA altered to allow them to withstand glyphosate. They are also known as "glyphosate tolerant crops.” These include: corn, soybeans, canola, cotton, sugar beets, and alfalfa. When planting Glyphosate Tolerant crops, a farmer can spray the entire crop with glyphosate, killing only the weeds and leaving the crop alive. Speaking of cotton and glyphosate, it's also known to cause issues when trying to conceive affecting the reproductive organs. Most underwear is made with cotton sprayed with glyphosate, and tampons are also affected. I have found these alternatives:

I have found these alternatives to underwear made with organic cotton, and organic tampons here.

Conventional Farming

The vast majority of conventionally grown produce is sprayed with Roundup. This means that glyphosate is hiding in a lot of the foods you consume, because grains and corn that are sprayed with this chemical are also fed to cattle, chickens, and other animals. Glyphosate becomes part of the meat and poultry, and when you ingest them, glyphosate becomes part of you.

Glyphosate is also hiding in other conventional animal products like milk, yogurt, cheese, butter, and so on. Collagen products have become very popular today. There are nutrition bars, drinks, powders, and other foods fortified with collagen. Bone broth is a very rich source of collagen. But if the collagen you are ingesting is bound with glyphosate, it can really have a negative impact on your health.

Whatever you are doing, always make sure that the collagen you are purchasing and ingesting is from a trusted organic source. And if you are consuming bone broth, make sure it's always organic grass-fed, and pasture-raised.

Not disturbing enough?  In 2018, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) found trace amounts of glyphosate in some popular children's breakfast foods and cereals. Of the 45 products tested, 31 were discovered to have high levels of glyphosate.

Organic All The Way

Always go for organic! I had a friend who worked with conventional farms. He told me that the farmers would not feed the strawberries they grew to their own families because they were sprayed with so much Roundup. The strawberries basically became poisonous.

Go organic, grass-fed, pasture-raised whenever you can. The same caution applies to restaurants, as most restaurants use conventional food because it's cheaper for them. Try not to eat out much. Make your own food or find restaurants near you that use organic ingredients. This is why I’m so big on testing ingredients, even if we have a certification from a farmer saying that an ingredient is organic, we make sure that it is tested by a third-party lab, because you never know.
