The Only Matcha Smoothie Recipe You’ll Ever Need

By Ingrid De La O , August 9, 2019

Matcha tea contains a unique, potent class of antioxidants known as catechins – in particular, the catechin EGCg (epigallocatechin gallate) which provides powerful cancer-fighting properties.

Most importantly, EGCg and other catechins counteract the effects of free radicals in our bodies caused from pollution, UV rays, radiation, and chemicals, which all can lead to cell and DNA damage. Considering more than 60% of the catechins in matcha are actually EGCg, a daily matcha regimen can help restore and preserve the body’s integral well-being and balance.

In addition to catechins, matcha is also rich in L-Theanine, a rare amino acid that promotes a state of relaxation and well-being by acting on brain function. While stress can induce beta waves which result in an excited, agitated state, L-Theanine creates alpha waves, which lead to a state of relaxed alertness. And while L-Theanine is commonly found in all tea, matcha may contain up to five times more of this amino acid than common black and green teas. 🔥

This is my absolute favorite recipe for a creamy matcha smoothie!!

2 tsp Maca
